Bamboo is are an eco resource it can be harvested and used in a massive range of applications. If you have bamboo growing use it. If you want to build with bamboo and are not sure which variety that will suit you best - ask us. Bamboo poles we cut & sell are grown in Byron Bay - we are as organic as possible.
My experience is that every plant we have on this property has a use for someone - you are individual and so is bamboo. Everytime someone calls for bamboo poles I get excited - ideas and uses are so diverse. People are experimenting with bamboo poles instead of using timber. This can only be a good thing for our planet. Soon a building standard will be established - then it will be seen everywhere and used in so much more construction. We are temporarily low on stock of 'dried/blonde' poles. If you wish to order in advance we will endeavour to supply to your needs - i.e. wedding arbour packs should be ordered now for Spring/Summer to ensure supply.
Treatment & Preservation:
At BBBA we endeavour to use minimal chemicals and be organic as possible. However like other organic timbers, Bamboo poles need to be treated to preserve. Those wishing to purchase treated Bamboo for Timber and Construction – our poles have had a preliminary treatment.For outdoor use & longevity, we recommend species less prone to insect attack. Like timber bamboo should be treated in a manner appropriate to requirements. i.e. Furniture should be lacquered. Bamboo should be kept off the ground and ends sealed from the elements. Most bamboo will split over time when exposed to sun and weather. Note: Recommendations are made to the best of our knowledge however, given the range of bamboo types applications & environmental variants additional treatment maybe required.

Garden frames Using YOUR Bamboo
Many people are planting bamboo, especially the very popular Textilis Gracilis (Slender Weavers Bamboo) Textilis Textilis, Oldhamii or other special timber varieties. Very soon you will trim it or take out poles. Don't Discard them.. use them ... as stakes or wardrobe rails or poles to use for flags, fishing rods or even the beginning of a fence or screen. Annual tidy ups will reap rewards !

Its grown in Byron not shipped from overseas therefore we can customise. We aim to be competitive. Average wedding arbour of basic sizing self construct - for 9 Poles $200-00 plus gst ave 60-70mm.

A very popular and lovely addition to wedding or event. We can supply to your design or needs.
Normal Arbour consists of 4 upright 2.4 m poles with 4 crossbars 2.2 m the diameter average is 60 80mm although chunkier styles are popular. Please see gallery of styles design your own. Archs of 3 chunky poles are an option or chocolate/black poles of 9 pieces. Others like 2m bundles of 50mm teepee poles.
For engagements or teenage coming of age how about a 6 pole x 6 meter arch to make a spectacular entrance ?
A simple canopy to use as a temporary bar or poolside party ?
