Bamboo Timber - Treatment/Preservation
At BBBA we endeavour to use minimal chemicals and be organic as possible. However like other organic timbers, Bamboo poles need to be treated to preserve.
- Those wishing to purchase treated Bamboo for Timber and Construction – our poles have had a preliminary treatment, using a Boric Acid/Borax formulation.
- For outdoor use & longevity, we recommend species less prone to insect attack. It is adviseable to treat and preserve in a manner appropriate to requirements. i.e. Furniture should be lacquered. Bamboo should be kept off the ground and ends sealed from the elements.
- Some poles are sold green untreated & suitable for more sensitive environmental applications. Please advise when ordering.
- Note: We make recommendations to the best of our knowledge however, given the range of bamboo types applications & environmental variants additional treatment maybe required.
