This lush green bamboo is becoming very popular -  its hardy, attractive and has a smaller profile in the garden.   It can be kept dwarf by trimming and made to look like a neat border plant or allowed to grow and be thinned to show off culms.  There is a variance in size as confined this bamboo doesn't get large.  Note: Top photo above shows an unmanicured look grown in formation to create a fence. Second photo is my 2 year old specimen trimmed recently.

Chinese dwarf is Ideal to hide a water tank or ugly shed.  Plant 1 metre apart to give complete blockout,  Cold resistant and will grow in difficult soils.  Doesn't like wet feet.  Seaworld Nara Resort Gold Coast have had great success with this plant - they shape it for a neat highly attractive border bamboo.Also good for planters or pots.
