Nice in-between size bamboo. Very different from its variegated cousin.   Smaller at the base, spready rather than vertical habit at the top.  Hardy - frost tolerant.  For those who just want a nice garden bamboo which will give some privacy but not grow too large.  Poles are a mid-green with brown ring at internode and suitable for timber uses.  Birds love this bamboo as they can nest in its branches, therefore good around dams and water areas.

Hardy cold tolerant - Grows well in pots outdoors.
