Distinctive swollen nodes make this Bambusa resemble the iconic Chinese                     Buddha.  There is also a Striata version available which grows 4-5 metres.

Wamin's fat culms go in all directions - new shoots are stunning. With a spreading nature, requires space.  Can be sculptured.  Warning: This is not a good bamboo too close to your house or especially near a pool. Handles rough conditions and will handle little water.
