We have a range of ornamental grasses many from the Miscanthus family including Maiden Grass and the unusual spotted/striped Zebra Grass. These are used overseas to control Co2 emissions ... bulk plantings of Miscanthus near highways can provide both an attractive and practical solution to pollution.

Other ornamental grasses available are Fountain Grass - drought tolerant, Tiger Grass (great screening plant), Malay Pygmy Grass, Rheo Grass, Mondo Grass plus miniature bamboos which are useful as ground covers.

Tiger Grass

Great Screening plant quickly grows into a dense hedge or ornamental plant for a large pot.

Ideal for a humid tropical area. Not recommended for dry windy areas.

200 mm size typically 1 m tall. 250 mm pot 1.5. 300mm pot size 1.8 plus. Large size provide a quick screening solution. Within a year you should have the ugly fence covered, have forgotten you have neighbours or have hidden your water tank.

Moss like grass that is wonderful planted amongst pavers or pebbles or in a small courtyard that can't or won't be mowed. Comes in 100 or 140 mm pot size which can be divided.

Use instead of mondo grass as it will take being walked on and bounce back. Highly decorative - so sells fast...

Malay Pygmy

Pogonathum Paniecum....lets call it Pog !

Malay pygmy grass is a miniature bamboo - fern like grass. Growing approx .5 metre tall and wide it makes a great understory plant, with soft foliage. Give it a haircut occasionally and it stays looking perfect. Does well in our climate. Variety of sizes available.

Stripey mondo looks brillant planted with Baby Panda Bear or infront of Crotons...corydlines or other tropical plants.

Its a favourite - but does like water, can stay in a pot for ages - just remember to give a good drink !

This is a usual understory or border grass...sometimes available in tray lots...or order to ensure availability. Trays $100 12x140 mm.
