We have a wonderful variety of ornamental bamboos to choose from. Shown above Mexican Weeping Bamboo. Other favourites are listed. Chinese Dwarf planted in a row can look stunning and a nice change from the more traditional border plants of days gone by.

Bamboo can be used as a feature in a garden to add some shelter and a lovely ambience - smaller Himalayan varieties like a shader area and are ideal for use near a pond or water feature. Although we are now finding Himalayan varieties are doing well in the sun and stunning small feature plants.  Shown in the photo is a garden in Byron we planted with all 3 Himalayan varieties...its sunny but sheltered, they are loving it and the client is extremely happy.

Use a nice pot or statue and you create something special and YOU.  Add some Zoysia or other miniature ornamental grass and its simple, but Karmic.  Water features make a great impact ... they don't have to be big... a large ceramic pot with a Thalia heliconia or lily or Papyus and you have calm, cool and tranquilty...even in a small space.

Many bamboos can be made ornamental by planting with a stone border and trimming periodically.  Please see under 4 m - over 4 m suggestions.
